Комментарий на пророка Исаию 11.7. Werke 9:83.Толкование на группу стихов: Ис: 11: 5-5
But he shall be girded with righteousness around the waist and bound with truth around his sides. Symmachus translates this rather: and righteousness will be the girdle around his waist, and faith the girdle around his flanks. And just as a king is girded with a golden belt and precious stones, so in the same manner as a belt, as prophesied, he divides righteousness and truth. From here we may understand that the text is speaking of the divinity of the Word. For he was righteousness, as the apostle informs us when he says: “Whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” And it is recorded that in the Gospels the Savior himself said: “I am the light, and the truth and the life.” Therefore, truth and righteousness were bound around the sides and waist of him who was “from the root of Jesse” in a royal and military fashion, displaying the inspired power of his word against unseen and invisible enemies. Through such metaphors as these, he portrays the prophesied one.

This also blessed David said: "Gird your sword upon your thigh, O mighty one, in your comeliness and your beauty, and prosper and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and righteousness." Through truth and righteousness he included every form of virtue; he says that these have become for him both a mantle and a belt. Then of the |117 a… economy he tells the achievements:
