Therefore, the text reads: With horses and chariots, in mule-drawn litters with sunshades, into the holy city Jerusalem, and they shall bring your kindred from all the nations. You will understand what the horses and the angelic chariots are when you reflect on the prophecy of Zechariah, when the Word alludes to angelic powers in the phrase “dapple-gray horses and various shades of white horses and chariots.” The mule-drawn litters seem to signify our resurrection bodies, in which our souls will mount up and be received into the heavenly city. And litters is an appropriate word picture, because of the glory that will shine forth from our resurrection bodies. But instead of mule-drawn litters with sunshades, Symmachus translates this phrase: On horses and chariots and litters and carriages and sedans. All these things were spoken in a coarse and literal fashion, as was appropriate for the Jewish audience. But according to the deeper meaning, this phrase signifies their journey 408 up through the air and on into heaven, as one would interpret it in light of the clear teaching of the divine apostle: “We shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord.” And so they shall enter into the heavenly city of God, and so those who have been saved from every nation shall come to the heavenly Jerusalem, just as the sons of Israel ascended and were bringing their sacrifices up on the earth. This is what he means when he says: So that the sons of Israel may bring to me their sacrifices with music into the house of the Lord. But according to Symmachus, the text reads: Even as the sons of Israel were bringing the offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. Therefore, just as those who prescribed the worship in the earthly Jerusalem according to the bodily law then practiced these things, so in accord with the earthly example shall those who ascend into the heavenly Jerusalem come with their own fruits. And each will offer the most excellent fruit-bearing gifts in his life.

Что это пророчество относится не ко времени после страшнаго суда, когда будет новое небо, видно из следующаго 23 стиха этой же главы. Значит, поклонение Богу и телом и духом будет и должно совершаться до страшнаго суда. И только после страшнаго суда, когда не будет уже смены дня и ночи, недель и месяцев, явится новый порядок богопоклонения: Откр. 21:23-25; 22, 5.

And these, he says, being sent by me will bring them: 20 They will bring your brothers from all the nations as a gift to God with horses and chariots in litters of mules with canopies to the holy city to Jerusalem, said the Lord, just as the sons of Israel might bring their sacrifices with psalms into the house of the Lord; 21 and from them I will take for myself priests and Levites, said the Lord. He calls those from the nations who have believed “their brothers” on account of the commonality of nature. And there were Jews among the nations, and a great multitude from the nations believed. Of these were Crispus the ruler of the synagogue and Sosthenes again a ruler of the synagogue, who benefited from the teaching of the divine Paul, and countless others in both Antioch of Pisidia and Iconium and Lystra and in the other cities, who received the saving teaching. These the divine apostles brought as certain gifts to the God of all with a certain ineffable honor. For through the horses and the litters and the canopies he signified the future honor, since these things are desirable among men. Thus also the divine apostle said that "we shall be caught up into the air".
