After finishing the prophecy about the universal judgment of God, which also encompassed the completion of the kingdom of Christ and “the glory of his elders,” the word exclaims in absolute wonder and says: O Lord, my God, I will glorify you; I will sing hymns to your name, because you have done wonderful things—an ancient, true plan. And we will understand how this was an ancient plan if we pay attention to the voice of the Savior, which addressed those who would be established by his right hand: “Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” And rushing on, the apostle writes: “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. He destined us in him to be his sons.” Therefore, this plan was ancient, and these deeds were truly wonderful things which had been destined “before the foundation of the world” which would be fulfilled “at the end of the age,” when “he will put all his enemies under his feet” and “when he will destroy every rule and every authority and power.”
At that point in time, when all evil has been brought under his feet and “after the last enemy death is destroyed,” then “God will truly be all in all.” And our Savior and Lord will rule during the new age, and “before the elders he will be glorified,” when also “all his saints” “will reign in life,” “reigning together” with their own Savior. This was the ancient plan, and these deeds were the wonderful things, at which the prophet marvels and glorifies God. Then, praying 162 that these things would happen, he adds: May it be so, thus striving and longing that the accomplishment of these good things may soon be established. Indeed, this was an ancient plan, because of the foreknowledge and predetermination of God and because of the true completion of the end.
But, indeed, on behalf of those who were to be deemed worthy of the blessedness, he prayed and said: May it be so. And
