Therefore, the Egyptian kingdom was no longer associated with demonic activity, for it was extinguished at the season when the evangelical preaching was announced among them, as the word says: And there shall be a passage for what is left of my people in Egypt, but he says, it shall be for Israel as the day when they came out of the land of Egypt. The people of Moses crossed the Red Sea on foot “on dry ground,” and then after the passage, “They sang this song, saying, ‘I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously.’” In the same manner, the Evangelists of our Savior who were prophesied to come, those who were the remnant from the entirety of the Jewish nation, they finished the course unhindered and ran through the whole land of the Egyptians, preaching the gospel to the Jews in their synagogues. They arranged the conversion of the nations through the church of Christ, just as Moses taught those who were rescued to “sing a new song.”
