Толкование на группу стихов: Ис: 37: 25-25
And still he spoke boldly when he said: And I built a bridge and desolated the waters and wherever waters gathered, or according to Symmachus: I dug and I drank water and laid waste, stopping up all rivers with my footprint. You see how also in these things the Word calls to mind the waters and rivers that were obliterated by Assyria, and I think that these things signify the multitudes among the nations and their boasts concerning their gods, whom they thought supported their lives. And, indeed, he was proud of the fact that his very footprint had created a desert. He boasts in nothing positive but rather in turning regions into desert by setting foot on them, and he boasts in the destruction of what the text refers to as the beauties of Lebanon.
