For at first Rabsaces said these things, and then at the end of his speech used promises to urge the multitude that stood there along the walls and in the towers to deliver the city over to him, and after he had made these agreements, he cried aloud to everyone and attempted to reproach the godliness of Hezekiah before all the people and said: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you when he says, “God will rescue us.”
