Толкование на группу стихов: Ис: 26: 11-11
After he said these words of encouragement to us, he again looks up and, on seeing the divinity of the Savior taken up into heaven, he cries aloud: O Lord, your arm is lifted up, and they have not known it. For since they were depressed and had fallen far away from the knowledge of his divinity, the impious groped about in the darkness of their own ignorance. But on seeing the uplifted arm of the universal judgment that will befall them, those who once blasphemed him as though he did not exist will restrain themselves and cease from their desperate and shameful deeds. And when they see the blessed enjoying life to the full in the heavens, they will be jealous. And jealousy will especially lay hold of those people who did not wish to receive the chastening of God during this present life. Therefore, when he says jealousy will take hold of an uninstructed people, he adumbrates those of the circumcision who have not received the grace of God through Christ. Then he says next: And fire will now consume the adversaries, which is the same sentence as is laid down in the pronouncement: “Depart into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
